Lagenandra 'Bleeding heart'
Lagenandra meeboldii ‘Bleeding Heart’ is a rare aquarium plant with heart-shaped leaves
Lagenandra meeboldii ‘Bleeding Heart’ is a rare and stunning aquarium plant closely related to Cryptocoryne.
Reaching a compact height of 8-15 cm, it is ideal for midground planting or as a striking foreground feature in nano tanks and community aquariums. Its leaves are broader and rounder than typical crypts, making it a perfect focal point plant to create contrast with fine-leaved stem plants and grasses.
Lagenandra ‘Bleeding Heart’ thrives under low to medium lighting and does not require CO₂ injection, although CO₂ enhances growth rate and intensifies its colouration. It prefers a nutrient-rich substrate to support its strong root system and benefits from stable water parameters.
