Littorella uniflora - Grass-like foreground aquarium plant for your aquarium

Littorella uniflora is a unique foreground aquarium plant with a tufted, grass-like appearance, forming small rosettes that spread via short runners. Native to Europe and commonly found in shallow lakes and ponds, it is ideal for low-tech, coldwater, or natural-style aquascapes.

Its stiff, linear leaves grow vertically or slightly arch, providing a clean and structured look in the foreground. Unlike carpeting plants, Littorella uniflora grows slowly and stays compact, making it great for open layouts or as a natural “lawn” effect.

This species thrives in a nutrient-rich substrate and requires only moderate light. CO₂ is not essential, though it can enhance leaf structure and colour. It is fully amphibious, which also makes it suitable for paludariums or wet terrarium edges.

Easy to maintain, it requires minimal trimming and is very resistant to fluctuating water conditions. Perfect for beginner aquascapers, coldwater aquariums, and shrimp tanks.
